There will be some changes to services on several days and a summary is now available to help people with their travel plans.
The ‘Christmas services’ travel advice page is now online and available from Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) Travelshops at bus stations and interchanges across Greater Manchester.
TfGM has been working closely with operators to help keep people moving during the busy Christmas and New Year period.
TfGM has also been working with the TravelSafe Partnership, including Greater Manchester Police to keep people safe. There will be additional officers out and about on the transport networks, including on ‘Mad Friday’, when bars and clubs across the city region are expected to be extremely busy.
Stephen Rhodes, Customer Director, said: “We want everyone to make the most of the festive period and the guide shows customers what their options are as services change during the holidays.
“It’s always good advice to plan ahead when travelling and I would urge anyone who’s making a trip over Christmas to start their journey on our website.
“Don’t get stranded, know your last service times as these will be busier than usual. We’ve been working closely with the police and other partners to keep people moving and safe.
“Having these plans in place allows visitors to have a drink and enjoy themselves, but also get to and from their destination safely.
“We will be providing extra capacity wherever possible and will have staff at key locations who will be on hand to help our customers.”
